About Us

COVID-19 devastated our favorite restaurants. We wanted to do something to help. 

8pack started as a Good Samaritan project to help local businesses, especially restaurants, survive in these challenging times.

As we brainstormed, we realized we should also help reduce the pandemic risks to the most vulnerable in our community.

The pick-up, delivery, and dine-in options provide the flexibility to take advantage of order based chat and notifications. The result 
is safer, no-contact, easier communications buying experience for the patrons resulting in higher efficiency for the business.

About 8pack User App

8pack User app is a free tool to help your favorite local business better implement a safer environment, especially for the older adults and people with medical conditions. A re-imagined curbside pickup as windows closed, trunk pickup is facilitated with order QR codes and different Chats for each order.

The standardized Notifications messages, and Order based Chat with direct link to Order details, help provide the flexibility and tools to reimagine less contact options.

To protect against fraud, Users are encouraged to do due diligence and confirm the Store phone number. Then Store and User could agree on an off-the-app method of payment, such as credit card over the phone, another payment app, etc.

The purpose of Chat is for a fast and efficient communication between the Store and the User. A Chat specifically for that Order, helps to get the Store and User on the same page, minimizing confusion.

No, this is also an opportunity to expand into other business models beyond just Dine-in and just prepared food. There is no reason why restaurants cannot expand offerings into “curated groceries”, for example. This app provides the flexibility and freedom to be creative.

For Pickups and Dine-in, Store could Chat the User to request a GPS share to confirm that the User is physically there, as an added security procedure.

There are 3 places to look for the Store QR code: 1) email would be sent right after setting up the Store, 2) in the 8pack Store app, Home screen, upper right QR icon, and 3) in the 8pack Store app, Profile screen, Settings, Share QR Code.

The Store has the freedom to create standard messages that could be sent to Users. This would help save time and help standardize the procedures.

Yes. The User could stay in the car with the windows closed. The Store app could scan the Order QR code on the User app to match the Order to the User, through the closed window. Get the Order, and place it into the trunk. A pic of the trunk with the items, sent through Order based Chat, helps the User “see” before closing the trunk and driving away. There is no shared air, there is no exposure, and everyone stays safe.

Yes. There are no commissions to pay. The app helps with the communication. Consumers would like communication, such as an ETA, or if the wrong item was delivered. Delivery may need communication about locating hard to find addresses or instructions on how to get access to the gated community. A pic of the delivered items, sent through Order based Chat, helps confirm the delivery.

Within the Chat, Store and User could send their GPS coordinates. This function is helpful with Delivery. For example, the Store could send a quick snapshot of when they are at when out on delivery to let the User know how far away they are.

Yes. Normally, to ask for a glass of water, for example, we would need to flag down a waiter. Wait for the waiter to come over. Explain, usually without facemasks, to the waiter that we want a glass of water. The waiter goes back and returns with the water. The app could help by reducing the exchange to typing in the Order based Chat that we want a glass of water, and the waiter comes over with the water.

This is to help the Restaurants connect with and keep their loyal customers. Another reason is that it makes longer to develop the system that supports multiple Stores, and we wanted to get this app out to help, as soon as possible.

Yes. This app provides the flexibility and freedom to be creative.

That is only to help the Store as a checklist when picking the items for the Order. It is optional to use, and does not change the status of the Order.

Emails of each Order help as an alternative recording.

Currently, the 8pack Store app only shows the Total Sell and This Month. Going forward, Data such as the Month to date Sales tax, Deliveries, Tips to Store, etc will be available in the Store app. Please help us through the GoFundMe page and 8pack Tips.
